Applications & Regulations can be viewed online.
Member vacancies are filled by appointment of the Board of Selectman in
March as terms expire. A term for office is three years. The board also
contracts the Lakes Region Planning Commission for assistance in the review
and discussion of applications made to the Zoning Board.
The ZBA considers applications for variance and special exception to the
Towns zoning ordinance. Example applications include requests to build
structures or additions within the setbacks from the property lines of the
subject property, and requests for approval of uses that are not permitted
(or permitted by special exception) in the zoning district where the subject
property is located. The ZBA is also responsible for hearing appeals of
administrative decisions made by Town officials.
