Tilton-Northfield Fire Department
Northfield is a proud member of the Tilton-Northfield Fire Department, photos by Scott Rogers which can be found at www.tnfd.org The Tilton-Northfield Fire Department provides 24 hour, 7 days a week coverage. TNFD is staffed with 11 full time personnel working 24 hours shifts, supplemented by on-call personnel. TNFD maintains two stations. The first one is the Center Street Station houses an ambulance and fire engine, forestry truck, offices, living quarters and training area. The second station, located at 49 Park Street in Northfield, houses the remaining three fire engines, ladder and rescue trucks, the second ambulance, the new 6 wheeler, an inflatable boat for water rescue, and our new Fire Safety Trailer (acquired through federal grant monies). Captain Bradley A. Ober, Fire Prevention Officer, will be using the Safety Trailer as an educational tool for children and adults to demonstrate how sprinklers work, how to crawl out of smoke filled rooms and kitchen safety. Tilton-Northfield Fire Dept. is a Car Seat Inspection Station for the Lakes Region. Our certified car seat technicians can install or inspect your child safety seats and answer any questions you may have on them. Please call 286-4781 and make an appointment with Lt. Tim Ames. A very active and energetic auxiliary has been formed and is named the "TNFD RED Company". Currently with 13 members, they have started a "Fire Department Birthday Party" fund raiser where children can hold their birthday parties at the Center Street Station after taking a tour of the Park Street Station. Cake, ice cream, snacks and drinks are provided with balloons and decorations. A very special gift is given to the birthday child, all with a fire department flavor! call 286-4781 if you are interested in participating. |
